Asthma
Asthma usually presents as wheeziness, with or without difficulty in breathing, and may also be diagnosed when there is a cough that lingers after a cold or other respiratory illness.
Conventional treatment is in the form of steroid inhalers, either to open up the air passageways during an attack (Ventolin), or with more severe asthma, to prevent attacks (Becatide).
Homeopathic treatment seeks to identify and treat the triggers for asthma. These may include allergies, stress, exercise, cold weather, or cold viruses that settle in the chest.
My approach
I offer a course of homeopathic treatment to strengthen the constitution as well as addressing the underlying cause. This includes giving homeopathic remedies made from any appropriate allergens together with an appropriate constitutional remedy to support your immune system. I also prescribe remedies to support and strengthen the lungs and provide an appropriate combination remedy to treat the acute symptoms when they arise.
While this is a long-term strategy that is likely to require monthly treatment for at least a year, you should notice a considerable improvement in the couple of months. You should also expect to feel an overall boost to your energy and well being along the way.
